A FLEET of new recycling vehicles set to collect plastics from the Cotswold streets later this year will be stored on a site in South Cerney or Cirencester.
Cotswold District Council is looking at two locations for the temporary site including the Kingsmeadow lorry park in Cirencester, and Broadway Lane Industrial Estate in South Cerney.
A new depot is needed because CDC’s current contract with SITA UK Ltd ends in August when all waste and recycling collections will be taken over by the authority’s new company Ubico Limited.
The chosen site will be a temporary solution until a permanent location can be found for the fleet of 12 new collection vehicles and other existing waste and street cleaning vehicles.
