The Plastivision Arabia & ArabiaMold trade shows, despite being debut editions, have recorded an impressive number of pre-registered visitors.

With four more days to go for the shows, more than 2,000 executives have registered to visit the trade fairs, which will be held at Expo Centre Sharjah from May 14 to 17, 2012.

"For any new show, this is a very impressive figure. It goes a long way to show the global interest in the regional plastics sector and the opportunities it has in store," said Mr Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Director-General of Expo Centre Sharjah.

Visitors have registered from 50 countries, with the UAE having the highest registrations, followed by Saudi Arabia and India. "With a few more days to go for the show and given the influence and reach of partners and associates we have signed up to support the event, the number is set to increase further," said Mr Midfa.

"With regular walk-in trade representatives joining the pre-registered visitors, the stage is set for an impressive launch for the Plastivision & ArabiaMold trade shows," he said.

While Expo Centre Sharjah is organizing Plastivision Arabia in association with All India Plastics Manufacturers Association, ArabiaMold will be co-organised by DEMAT Fairs & Exhibitions, Germany. The events are supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The exhibit profile will cover raw materials and auxiliaries, plastic products and processing, machinery and equipment for the plastics and rubber industries, moldmaking, tooling, design and services for the industry.

The show will be open from 10am to 6pm on May 14, 15 and 16, and on May 17, the last day, the shows will receive visitors from 10am to 4 pm.
