KOLKATA: The Indian Plastics Federation will establish Rs 25 crore worth knowledge centre in the state to run courses on plastic processing. The construction work for the project is expected to kick off from October.
Amar Seth, Chairman of IPF Knowledge Centre, said, “We will be setting up a knowledge centre at Sankrail (in Howrah district) to run different courses on plastic processing. Globsyn will impart training to the students to help them get job in the country's plastic processing industry.”
Seth also stated that the construction work for the project was expected to commence from October this year. The National Skill Development Council (NSDC) would offer certificates for the courses.
Moreover, the overall investment for the project would be Rs 25 crore and in the first phase Rs 10 crore would be spent. The Knowledge Centre will be established a 1.02 acres of land at Sankrail.
Meanwhile, IPF stated that it will organise the sixth International Exhibition on Plastics from October 5 in the city.
