Known for its shuttle machines, Rotoline Industrial Equipment Ltda. has launched its first independent-arm, carousel rotational molding machine.Rotoline introduced its Carrossel series of machines at the Brasilplast the trade show, held in May in São Paulo.

Rotoline, which has begun production in a new 54,000-square-foot building in Chapecó, is affiliated with Reduction Engineering Inc. of Kent, Ohio.The three-arm machine comes with both arm configurations: straight arm and an optional offset arm. The machine’s five stations cover oven, pre-cooling, cooling, unloading and loading. Independent-arm technology means the operator can make adjustments at different times on each arm. A fourth arm is optional on the largest size.

The independent-arm machine sports the energy-saving features of Rotoline’s shuttle machine — a round-shaped oven and reverse air recirculation. A powerful oven burner system provides more-efficient heat distribution, according to the company.The circular oven has no dead space, which Rotoline said provides up to 20 percent greater fuel efficiency over traditional square ovens.The Carrossel series has a remote wireless communication system, via the Ethernet, linking the Allen-Bradley programmable logic controller, computer and variable-frequency drives.The larger new factory building gives Rotoline space to build larger machines. The company’s shuttle machines use two arms, mounted on rails, on either side of an oven. Rotoline also makes rock ‘n’ rollcq per words-jr machines.
