US-based Lloyd Instruments has launched a new polymer testing instrument - the LS1 high performance single column materials testing machine, which can test materials up to 0.5 tonnes.

The LS1 comes with test software functionality, slow movement capability with linear response, security and audit trail function, and sample holding grips and fixtures.

It has a load accuracy of 0.5% down to 1% of load cell value, providing highly accurate measurements, says the company. Crosshead speeds range from 0.01 - 2,032 mm/min.

The machine can be used for tensile and compression testing, friction, tearing, peeling, insertion/extraction and creep/relaxation measurements.
